Proactive Disclosure of Government Information
As of 1 October 2017, in compliance with Premier and Cabinet Circular PC045, all State Government agencies are required to publish a proactive disclosure log of all non-personal information released to applicants under the Freedom of Information Act 1991 (FOI Act).
This log provides a central avenue for members of the public to access information released by the South Australian Fire and Emergency Services Commission (SAFECOM), under the FOI Act, which may be of interest to the wider community. This supports transparency and accountability of government.
Documents which have been released to an FOI applicant, but are considered exempt from publication in the disclosure log, are specified by Schedule 1 of the FOI Act. This includes information or documents that:
- Relates to the personal affairs of an individual.
-
Could be considered defamatory.
-
Represents a breach of confidentiality or could be expected to cause harm to a person.
Additionally, entries in the disclosure log may be edited to redact particular information such as the name of the applicant or agency employee names. SAFECOM is responsible for processing determinations for SAFECOM and the SA State Emergency Service (SES). Applications determined on behalf of these agencies will be published in the disclosure log below.
Information attached to, or referred to, in SAFECOM's disclosure log will be removed after 12 months, unless the information is considered to hold enduring public value.
