Risk and Performance Committee
About
The role of the Risk and Performance Committee is to support the SAFECOM Board to discharge its obligations in overseeing the Emergency Services Sector’s risk management, internal control and compliance framework and financial reporting process, including annual financial statements. It also provides support and advice to the Board in respect of the Board’s responsibility for corporate governance, including consideration of sector performance, strategy, operations, accountability, complaint management and service delivery, taking risk into account in determining priorities.
Membership
The Committee comprises of at least two non-executive members of the SAFECOM Board (one to be Chairperson of the Committee) and at least one member appointed by the Board who is neither a Board member of SAFECOM nor employed by an agency that is subject to the Fire and Emergency Services Act 2005. At least one member of the Committee will have accounting or related financial management experience with an understanding of accounting and auditing standards in a public sector environment. Members are appointed for a term of two years.
